Forest School

Forest School is not running this term. We hope to resume soon.

At Henry Hinde Infant School we are lucky to do Forest School in Year One and Year Two. Each year group has sessions for half of the year; Year Two from September until February half term and Year One from February half term until the end of the school year. Each class receives a session on alternate weeks during the period that they are doing Forest School.

In Year One we make mud faces, build animal homes, make dens, have a fire, visit a farm, go to the Junior School, try a rope swing, make natural art, listen to stories, make bows and arrows and have loads of fun.

When we get to Year Two we create animal habitats, climb trees, look for animal tracks, make boats from natural materials and sail them on a stream, visit a pond, use tools, follow trails.

We all work towards our ‘Forest School Independent Explorer Awards’ starting with Bronze. Using the adventure and activity bags we investigate and explore with our friends.
